Christian Saunders wants to change the way the world learn English (1/17/2023)
With over 16 million views and more than 300 K subsribers, Christian Saunders is certainly getting there. In the last 7 years, he was able to made over 500 videos!
But what is going on? The last video on his channel was uploaded only 7 months ago. Let’s take a closer look.
The Beginning
Christian’s inspirational videos have attracted a lot of attention. His official Facebook group grew to 38,000 members. It became a place where students uploaded a lot of videos and posts.
The communities
The Canguro English members were so motivated that they even started to form new sub-groups. This is how MAOFEN Masters Of English and Chatbox came into being.

It was a place in which learners began to speak up. Until….
the facebook group completely went into sleeping mode. No new posts are getting accepted for publication. I’ve found that quite a pity because it was an extraordinary place in which people seem to have helped each other out.
My favorite video
My top video was actually not a video but a podcast episode. Actually, I didn’t even know there was a video version of it. It’s about changing your dialect. It features accent trainer Erik Singer. It’s also about identity. That’s always a subject that fascinates me.

The revolution seems to be over. The curtains have fallen. The reason why Christian Saunders is not uploading any video is….

Christian Saunders is creating English courses and immersion programs for members of his own Canguro English Academy.. to be more precise, for English learners who are willing to donate exactly 49 Euro.
We can understand that. An English teacher or content creator has to eat.
But wait a minute…
All money goes towards building schools.
Chrstian is still changing the way the world learns English but maybe in a slightly different way than before.
